The Role
-Prepare detailed monthly and quarterly fund and management accounts, including NAV calculations, distribution workings and investor reporting, and provide clear commentary on portfolio performance in line with accounting standards.
- Support technical accounting requirements, including consolidations, acquisitions and disposals, ensuring compliance with Australian Accounting Standards (AASB) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
- Prepare and support the submission of accounting papers on key issues such as property valuations, lease accounting, and financial instruments, collaborating with auditors and external advisors as necessary.
- Manage and review Business Activity Statements (BAS) and ensure compliance with tax regulations.
- Contribute to the development of accounting policies related to property and trust accounting, ensuring they are robust and adaptable to evolving business needs.
- Support the set up and on-going maintenance of the financial structures within the real estate business, ensuring accurate financial treatment throughout acquisition, disposals and day-to day operations.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly reporting packs and financial information for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring accuracy, clarity and timely delivery.
- Monitor financial covenants for debt facilities, ensuring compliance with lender requirements.
- Perform consolidation and the preparation of financial statements for group entities, ensuring clarity and transparency in reporting.
The Person
You will be CA/CPA qualified with 5-8 years of experience working in a Property Fund Accounting role. Strong hands on technical experience and the ability to work in a fast paced, collaborative team environment will ensure your success in this role.
