The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced and strategic leader to establish, implement and lead our Program Management Office (PMO). This is a pivotal role reporting directly to the CEO, responsible for driving project delivery maturity across the organisation and ensuring alignment with our corporate objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement and continuously mature a centralised PMO, including its vision, operating model and strategic roadmap.
- Develop and embed project management frameworks, governance structures and best practices across the organisation.
- Provide strategic oversight of major corporate projects, including capital works, IT transformations and high-profile activations.
- Monitor and report on project performance, risks and benefits realisation to the CEO, Executive Leadership Team and Board.
- Drive proactive risk management and issue resolution across the project portfolio.
- Influence resource planning and allocation in collaboration with senior leaders.
- Build organisational capability in project management through mentorship and training.
- Champion stakeholder engagement and transparent communication.
- Identify and implement project management tools and technologies to enhance delivery effectiveness.
The successful candidate for this role will be able to demonstrate:
- Proven experience establishing and leading a PMO in a complex environment, ideally within the public sector or large multi-faceted organisation.
- Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, Hybrid) and their practical application.
- Demonstrated success in overseeing diverse, high-value projects and aligning them with strategic objectives.
- Exceptional ability to influence senior stakeholders and foster collaboration without direct authority.
- Skilled in risk management, governance design and strategic problem-solving.
- Excellent communication and reporting skills, including experience presenting to executive leadership and Boards.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment and drive cultural change.
