About the Role
Reporting directly to the Centre Manager, this is a senior hands-on position within the centre management team. You'll lead a small team — including a Property Administrator and an Assistant Retail Manager — and take genuine ownership across the full retailer lifecycle, from induction and relationship management through to lease compliance, arrears, and financial performance.
But the brief goes beyond day-to-day operations. The owner is seeking someone who can influence culture, drive accountability, and contribute to the strategic direction of the asset. You'll be a trusted partner to the Centre Manager — someone who elevates the team around them and makes sound commercial decisions when it counts.
Your core responsibilities will include:
- Retailer relationship management — conducting inductions, managing lease assignments, leading negotiations, and building collaborative long-term partnerships with tenants and stakeholders
- Cash flow and arrears management — meeting arrears collection targets, collating sales figures, and driving cash flow performance in line with business objectives
- Financial reporting and compliance — managing budgets and forecasting activities, completing reporting requirements on time, and ensuring the centre adheres to all relevant policies and standards
- Customer experience — leading your team to understand and consistently deliver against customer expectations, and continuously reviewing work processes for improvement
- Team leadership — actively managing the training and development of direct reports, monitoring performance, and supporting the broader centre management team as required
Who We're Looking For
This role will suit an experienced retail property professional who is ready to step up — or a strong 2IC already operating at this level who wants to do so within a high-calibre institutional environment.
The successful candidate will bring:
- Proven experience in retail property (landlord or tenant side), including lease compliance, retailer engagement, and arrears management
- A track record of leading teams with a focus on culture, accountability, and high performance
- Strong commercial acumen — the ability to interpret retailer performance data, identify risks and opportunities, and make decisions that support asset outcomes
- Sharp analytical capability and attention to detail across financial reporting and administration
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, and the credibility to build strong relationships with retailers and stakeholders while holding the line on performance
- A genuine desire to operate as a strategic contributor, not just an operational executor
